Strong

This week I completed a double layout using two awesome sketches...

this one, from Stuck?!
and this one, from My Creative Sketches
Here is my Stuck?! layout, I loved the star in the sketch but I wanted to use three photos instead of two, so I scaled it down a bit.

This is my My Creative Sketches layout, the clean look really appealed to me, I really enjoyed working with this sketch! My pics were a bit a larger than the sketch so I flipped the bottom pic to the top.

I think these two sketches really complimented each other and made for a nice double layout :)

Close ups...

This layout celebrates how strong my daughter was through her hip surgery and spica cast. At only 7 months old she was put into a full body cast from her chest to her ankles. It was tough on all of us, but she adapted so well and so easily, her strength made it so much easier!

The 'you inspire me' stamp was actually part of the Lawn Fawn set I received from winning last month's challenge! Thank you Lawn Fawn and Stuck?! :)

My sweet girl, she is so strong and so beautiful! I love looking back, even on the hard times, and seeing that light in her eye and that enormous grin on her face!

Hope everyone has a scrap'n good time :)

One Month

For this challenge I combined two sketch challenges (again) to create a double layout. I used the Scrap Our Stash sketch:

And for my second page I completed the Stuck?! Sketches challenge:

So here is what I came up with...

Here is the first page (Scrap our Stash Challenge)

I loved the requirement to add handmade flowers because flowers are some of my favorite things to make right now (ever since I started my daughter's scrapbook).

My second page (the Stuck?! challenge) included circles as well so I figured these two sketches would work well together. I added some circles from page one to the other page to tie them together. I also used the large circle from this sketch on my first page.

Here are some close ups :)

I enjoy making double layouts that fit together like puzzle pieces :)

Scrap'n my babies is always bittersweet, this little princess is going to be a year old next month! Wow!

Welcome Little One

For my first May challenge I combined a Stick it Down and Stuck?! challenge to create a double layout!

Stick it Down has this awesome sketch, I was completely inspired by the hexagon pattern!

As always I love the Stuck?! Sketches challenge. I love the use of multiple pictures and the big circle!

To combine these I used a big title (which is actually a repurposed tag from a gift bag we received when C was born!) to tie the two pages together.

Here is the first page, based on the Stick it Down Sketch:

When I saw the sketch I instantly thought of the hexagon designed Duck Tape I was given for Christmas. It worked out perfectly! I cut around the hexagons and used them to create the design, I also made some of them elevated to create more dimension on the page.

And my second page based on the Stuck?! Sketch:

I incorporated some of the Duck Tape on this page to keep it cohesive. I also stuck (pun intended!) to the sketch pretty closely! The pictures of B meeting his baby sister for the first time always make me smile. The love between them is heartwarming.

Here are some close ups!

Still experimenting with texture paste. It is difficult to convey in the picture but the I added gold sparkle to the texture paste to tie into the gold throughout the layout. I love the way it sparkles, I wish it would be more evident in this picture!

The rose punch is from We R Memory Keepers. I can't say enough good things about this company. I love their products, but I especially love their customer service. I purchased a punch combo set from a local retailer and I got it home---it was not the punch advertised on the box! I was so disappointed. I contacted We R Memory Keepers and they sent me a replacement set without any hesitation at all! Amazing!

I don't make traditional baby books so I like to incorporate keepsakes into my scrapbook. I knew I had to use her foot prints, but I also included the hospital bands!

Scrap'n good times, this one is an especially good time :) Hope y'all are scrap'n good times too!

Share Smiles

For my last April challenge I combined Stuck?!'s April 15th challenge and Let's Get Sketchy's week 3 challenge and made them into a double layout!

Here is the awesome Stuck?! Sketch that I used as my first page in my double layout.
Here is the Let's Get Sketchy sketch I used for the second page in my double layout.

I just competed another Christmas layout from our Sea World Christmas trip, but I had more Christmas photos I wanted to use in my scrapbook. I get tired of holiday pages because I feel so limited to traditional colors and whatnot, so I wanted to do something different with this page (not the same old red and green!).

I love how contagious my son's smiles are, he really does spread joy with his smiles. Everywhere we go he makes people smile-joy is infectious!

I have never worked with texture paste before, but I really wanted to try it...so I made my own texture paste. I have no idea how my homemade version compares to store bought, but I am hooked. I also used my Cricut to make contact paper stencils for the texture paste. I think a little more practice and I will be better at this technique, but I loved the way this came out! ((and I used baby powder in the paste so my layout smells wonderful too!))

Hope y'all enjoy my layout and have a scrap'n good time!

Stuck? Challenge!

I really love this sketch from Stuck?! Sketches

I used this sketch to complete a double page layout of our day at Dinosaur Park!

Here is my finished layout!

The first page is inspired by the sketch challenge.

I had never used the Scotch Expressions tape before, I really loved it, it was such a fun and easy way to add a little extra design to my layout. I also used the We R Memory Keepers 2 Edge Doily Punch. The paper I chose was the Paper Studio Boho Chic, it was a great black and gray design that I 'dressed up' with Fiskars Gel Pens! My new favorite thing is the Inkadinkado stamping gear, I bought it for myself for Christmas and I love it. I have never used stamps before this in my scrapping, so it is definitely a fun new addition, I will be getting more stamps-for sure! I had so much fun complementing the pictures of such a fun day with this layout, I hope you enjoy it too!

Hope y'all have a scrap'n good time...and check out Stuck?! Sketches Challenges!
