This week I completed a double layout using two awesome sketches...



this one, from Stuck?!

and this one, from My Creative Sketches

 Here is my Stuck?! layout, I loved the star in the sketch but I wanted to use three photos instead of two, so I scaled it down a bit.

 

This is my My Creative Sketches layout, the clean look really appealed to me, I really enjoyed working with this sketch! My pics were a bit a larger than the sketch so I flipped the bottom pic to the top.

 I think these two sketches really complimented each other and made for a nice double layout :)

This layout celebrates how strong my daughter was through her hip surgery and spica cast. At only 7 months old she was put into a full body cast from her chest to her ankles. It was tough on all of us, but she adapted so well and so easily, her strength made it so much easier!

 

The 'you inspire me' stamp was actually part of the Lawn Fawn set I received from winning last month's challenge! Thank you Lawn Fawn and Stuck?! :)

 

My sweet girl, she is so strong and so beautiful! I love looking back, even on the hard times, and seeing that light in her eye and that enormous grin on her face!

Baby Mine

I am so excited about my newest layout!

I did a few new things that really turned out well, and I have Sketchabilities and Sketches in Thyme to thank for the inspiration! 

 

These two sketches are so awesome, I loved using them for my inspiration for a double layout.

 

Here is my layout 

 

I took inspiration from the sketches, and also from the lullaby "Baby Mine" ( I especially love the Alison Krauss version, but Dumbo is a classic!).

 

 

The first page is based on the Sketchabilities challenge. I absolutely love this sketch...really I love all of the Karan Gerber sketches, my first challenge was a Scrap Our Stash challenge with a sketch from Karan Gerber and it was my initial inspiration for starting a blog and completing challenges!

The Sketches in Thyme sketch challenge was also awesome. I loved this sketch so much, I like the flow and movement of the sketch and I really wanted to incorporate the 3 dimensional quality it portrayed.

I used ribbon and flowers to create a 3 dimensional element, I was really happy with the outcome.

The flowers were my favorite thing to make for this page. I had such a blast making them for the first time. Usually I am content to create flat stacked flowers, but for this sketch I really wanted something more substantial.

 

 

 

I don't normally make such long titles for my pages but I decided to forgo journaling in order to use this title, which is one of my favorite lines from the song.

 

I got these adorable tiny clips at target a few days ago and knew I wanted to incorporate them into my page! I love the dollar section at target, I find so many fun things for my layouts there!

 

I am also really happy with how easy the sew easy tool makes sewing cool designs on my pages.

It's a...???

I am so inspired by Scrap Our Stash's sketch challenges, the first challenge I did was inspired by SOS and this sketch did not fail to inspire me in the same way! I also love the addition of the inspiration photo!

The inspiration photo made me think of being pregnant with my daughter and searching Pinterest for hours for cribs, bedding, and all stuff baby! One of my favorite Pinterest finds was the countless number of gender reveal ideas. I had such a hard time choosing how to tell our family and friends we were having a little girl!

I used the sketch to make a double layout, with the second page inspired by the sketch. I tried to stick to the sketch, but I did flip it to make it my second page. Here is a closer look at both pages!

Including my son in our gender reveal was a no brainer, but I love these pictures more than I would have ever imagined. It was fun to reveal each one to my family and friends with a short delay between each picture, the anticipation really made them excited too!

 

 

I took inspiration from the "life is beautiful" quote and the magenta/pink colors in the photo.

My first challenge EVER!

For my very first challenge I was inspired by the Scrap Our Stash Challenge #24!

This awesome sketch by Karan Gerber encouraged me to create the first page for my daughter's scrapbook (I have been trying to catch up on my son's scrapbook before I started my daughter). The challenge also motivated me to use a lot of my (ever growing) stash to complete the task of using an element for each letter in the word S-T-E-N-C-I-L.

I- Inkadinkado Stamping Gear

 

L- Leather ribbon

I had so much fun putting this page together, I love using more girly embellishments than I have in the past with my son's scrapbook! Let me know what you think!




I added a gold layer to the flower. I love the inkadinkadoo stamps, they are so fun to use!
